Today, I want to share with you an extraordinary story of resilience and triumph. It’s a tale that showcases the indomitable spirit of one remarkable woman, Connie Sportiello. Connie, a Nurse Director, Wellness Coach, Philanthropist, and writer, had dreams of pursuing her doctorate and PhD. Unfortunately, life had different plans, abruptly cutting short her educational journey.

But out of the ashes of her shattered dreams, Connie forged a path of inspiration and empowerment. The Book Queen, derived from her own life experiences over the past year, chronicles a series of monumental challenges that Connie faced head-on. It all began with a life-changing injury, an event that stripped her of everything she had worked tirelessly for throughout her entire life.

Brain, heart, lung, spinal, vascular, uterine—every part of Connie’s being endured extensive damage. She was forced to relearn cognitive and physical abilities from scratch. And as if that wasn’t enough, she was simultaneously plunged into the depths of a harrowing heartbreak. Someone she trusted, someone she loved, abruptly turned evil—a betrayal that defies adequate description.

Undeterred by the pain and devastation that threatened to consume her, Connie embarked on a painful and solitary rehabilitation process. Armed with the knowledge gleaned from her studies, she summoned the strength to push forward, even in the face of countless setbacks. Despite losing everything she had built her life upon, she refused to surrender.

And now, a mere year later, Connie has emerged from the darkness, radiant and thriving. Her story is a testament to the remarkable power that lies within each of us. It is a testament to our ability to overcome any obstacle we encounter, no matter how insurmountable it may seem.

Why I Made This Book

I made this book due to requests by women who intensely related to the passionate words and for ones who wanted a tangible version of my poem, Queen, in their hands. I have put my all into making this a beautiful creation for women. I’ve been told by some that this is my most important writing that has been a helpful tool in overcoming trauma bonds and has supported them in coming into the realization of their self-worth and their journey in healing.
