You could make a fair argument that any song which opens an artist up to people outside their usual demographic is a song that can be termed groundbreaking. If that is the case, Arcades, Aeroplanes is groundbreaking. It’s easy enough to preach to the musically converted but this has proven to be far more impactful than that.

I would be the first to admit that I am not exactly the target audience, me being an underground indie kid at heart, but this has just ear wormed its way into my consciousness so effectively that I may have to start charging it rent.

So what have we got here? An infectious pop tune? A digitally-infused dance track? A futuristic, forward-thinking slice of arcade electronica? A nod to the past? A glimpse of the future? An out-and-out groover? Well, all this…and so much more.

Who knew that pop music could be so smart and so effective? Bryanna Rain…that’s who!
