The Singer Simon Val

“For as long as I can remember I’ve loved singing. My parents said that I hummed Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida” before I could even talk. As soon as I turned 8, I started doing musicals with a local theatre company, and I fell in love with the stage. At 12, I had the opportunity to perform in a benefit on Broadway and share the stage with many Broadway legends. Then at 14, I released my first single “My Heart Texts You”, and this is where the idea of producing a full album was born.

I ended up recording all of my songs on the album while I was 14 and 15, and most of the songs are about being in love as a young teen. I called my debut album “Young Love”, the same name as the title of one of my singles in the album. Now I’m just a couple of months away from turning 16, and my voice is finally changing, so it feels good to release an album that sort of draws a line between childhood and adolescence.
The album is getting released on Friday, October 28, and it was produced through my own record label company, Eclata Records.

“I Lose All Words” is the third track on the album, and it’s also my most recently released single. I also released a video for this song, which I recorded in London in August when I was there for a West End musical theatre intensive. While the song is about missing a girl, the video ended up being a love letter to London.

I’m the happiest when I sing in front of people on stage. I feel this is where I belong. My ultimate dream is to perform at huge venues all over the world, star on Broadway and West End, and record songs that people fall in love with. There is so much I want to do, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
